Safety Games Work!
The ultimate purpose of training is to promote learning.  Playing games reinforces learning.  Entertained students learn and retain more, rather than sleeping through boring training.  It is an excellent way to break up monotonous & redundant refreshers.  Teamwork is reinforced, and stress is relieved.  Finally, the game questions offer a good way for the instructor to gauge student's competency in a topic, and go back for review when needed.

Top-level professionals with extensive field experience will train your employees in your mandatory EH&S training requirements.  Courses are given at your location to maximize your training dollars.  On-site training is customized specifically to your facility, job site or work practice.

EHS Innovators utilizes the latest digital audiovisual projection systems to provide the highest quality safety training programs, including DVD video clips combined into professionally designed PowerPoint presentations.  Entertaining and interactive computer-generated safety games, such as "Millionaire", "Safety Jeopardy", "Family Feud" and "Tic-Tac-Toe", as well as hands-on demonstrations, are often incorporated into training without additional cost to ensure employee participation, enjoyment and subject retention.

How Much HAZWOPER Training is Required?

Many people confuse both the minimum initial and refresher classroom training requirements of HAZWOPER.  The sections of HAZWOPER are divided into Emergency Response (i.e., hazmat) and Hazardous Waste Operations (i.e., haz waste site).

Emergency Response

Awareness - non-specified (about 2 hrs.)

Operations (Defensive) Level - 8 hrs initial, demonstrated competency refresher.

Hazmat Technician (Active) - 24 hrs initial, demonstrated competency refresher.

Incident Commander - 24 hr + demonstrated competency

Hazardous Waste Operations

General Site Worker (no respirator required) - 24 hrs initial, 8 hrs refresher.

General Site Worker (respirator required) - 40 hrs initial, 8 hrs refresher.

Supervisor - Gen. Site Worker + 8 hrs initial.

Of course, these times are minimum legal requirements.  Additional training may apply.
